I miss you, buddy.
I miss you, buddy.
it has been three months and I keep finding pics of Calvin in random folders because my computer is a mess. at least now the good memories are bigger than the pain.
most of my thesis was written with Calvin sleeping on my lap or under the desk. the only thing that could wake him up was some noise in the kitchen, then he would run there to ask for food. these moments are the only good thing I can remember about writing the thesis I finished today.
I miss you so much, buddy.
Got a call. Someone found Calvin, he was in a poor neighborhood near of my house. After some bad calls, I was afraid to go there. I went there with mom and Raul, one of my dogs. It was Calvin. The last days he was with this family and used to go to school with one of the five kids - they told me that one day he entered the classroom and everyone started laughing. When he was at home, he used to stay with the 15 month old child. Before giving him back, all the kids hugged and kissed him, saying they’d miss him so much. But they looked as happy as we were. Calvin was sick, so we walked home as fast as we could to be able to take him to the vet. I was carrying him. Then when we arrived in front of our house, he died. Why life has to be so bittersweet.
two weeks, five calls, three of them for the same wrong dog. even Frangolino miss Calvin.
one week, 50+ signs everywhere, 200+ flyers in mailboxes, 2 calls (one from a good person, one from a bad person)
can’t you come back? :(
looking at a map it doesn’t seem like much but I’ve been walking around 2h every morning and every night placing ads everywhere, putting flyers in mailboxes or making a symphony of barking dogs (= when I take my other 2 dogs for a walk and every neighbors’ dog - each neighbor has 2 or 3 dogs - start barking like crazy at us).
the symphony of barking dogs is the best strategy because if Calvin is sleeping somewhere (and he’s always sleeping, that’s why he’s my dog) he would wake up and start barking too.
putting this everywhere.
hold on, little buddy. I’ll find you.
